As many Central Californians already know, long-time department store chain Gottschalks is in liquidation, and soon will be closing their doors for good. Carolina once worked part-time for the Valley Plaza-Bakersfield store during the 1980s-1990s, and in the 1970s when it was known as Brock's Department Store. More history about the store will be added, along with photos. Stay tuned!
